APPARATUS CLASS

The devices (called "Apparatus" by Joseph Pilates) were designed to accompany the stretching and strengthening work of the "core" started during the work on the Mat.

Exercises on apparatus offer multiple variations of floor exercises. The apparatus helps to discover new sensations to facilitate or even deepen the work on the floor. The apparatus supports, helps and resists (with the springs) all at once. It allows various supports on the hands, feet, etc. which allows to become aware of one's body in space in a precise way and according to the posture of each one. The resistance offered by the springs makes it possible to strengthen the muscles which keep the joints stable and therefore to reduce the risk of injuries.

In any case, at the heart of this method, there is a real desire to take into account the particularities of each participant. A good teacher must adapt the exercises to his student and we pay particular attention in our group lessons to remain attentive to each of our clients.
